Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) has announced the launch of 2 new 3G Data Plans for both Prepaid as well as Postpaid customers in Mumbai telecom circle. Just like MTNL Delhi, Mumbai too has launched Plan 1190 & Plan 1200 for its customers. The effective cost per GB of 3G data in Plan 1200 comes down to Rs. 80 which is Industry’s best.
MTNL 3G offers speeds of upto 3.6 Mbps and they are upgrading the network to provide 14.4 Mbps speeds. But how much it will take nobody knows. Now talking about the new plans, Plan 1190 is not so attractive plan (at least for me) as it offers 9GB of 3G Data for 90 days along with 350 Free SMS (Local & National). This plan is for Prepaid customers only.
The other Plan is quite an attractive one, Plan 1200 offers 15GB (Rs. 80 per GB) 3G Data for a period of 30 Days. Now that a tough competition to Tata Photon, MTS MBlaze & Reliance Netconnect as they all are offering almost the similar plan. Earlier MTNL was offering 15GB data in Rs. 1500 that was costly in comparison to CDMA dongles. This Plan is for both Prepaid & Postpaid customers.
On 1st June, 2012 – MTNL once again revised its 3G Plan in Mumbai Telecom circle, offering 10% Extra Data as compared to other Operator in the industry.
