COAI has published the data related to the addition of new GSM subscribers in the month of April & as per the report India added just 6.5 Million new subscribers only in the month of April. Airtel added the highest no. of new customers, 2 Million of the total. UP East circle added 844,857 new subscriber, the most by any circle. As per the latest figures, Airtel still leads the Indian Telecom Industry with 183 Million customers.

The second slot in maximum additions last month was captured by Idea and Uninor came third with additions of 1.49 & 1.12 Million subscribers respectively. Aircel managed to grab only 1 Million new customers & Vodafone added 0.8 Million & Videocon got just 0.16 Million new customers.

The total new additions last month i.e. 6.5 Millions is the lowest in the last 6 months which could be due to the fact that now more & more people are aware of the MNP & are using it rather than getting new SIMs.
