Idea Cellular today announced the revision of its 3G Plans across all telecom circles offering much better 3G Packs, almost same as Airtel had announced just a few days back. Just like Airtel, Idea too offers 30 mins of Unlimited Browsing in Rs. 10 Pack now dubbed as “Try and Buy”. Another “Try and Buy” Pack is priced at Rs. 25 100MB 3G Data for 30 days.

Interestingly, the 1GB & 2GB Packs are priced equal to Airtel prices only. Idea 3G Data pack offering 1GB is priced at Rs. 250 and for 2GB 3G Data you would now have to shell out Rs. 450.

Earlier, Idea had a pack priced at Rs. 1250 offering 10GB Data for 30 days which is now revised and offers 4GB Data only for 90 days.

On a whole, now Idea 3G don’t have a monthly pack offering more than 6GB Data. The 6GB Data pack is available for Rs. 950 (same as earlier) with a validity of 30 days. So for users, who have High Usage, Idea have nothing to offer.

For Non Pack/Plan user, Idea too has revised default rates from 10p/10KB to 3p/10KB for Prepaid customers & from 5p/10KB to 3p/10KB for Postpaid customers

The same changes has been made with Postpaid 3G Plans as well. Idea offers 3G services in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh (E) & Uttrakhand, Uttar Pradesh (W), Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir on its own spectrum and in Assam & NESA, Bihar & Jharkhand, Chennai & Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Karnataka, Kolkata & West Bengal, Mumbai & Rajasthan through ICR agreements with other 3G Operators. Idea still not offers 3G Services in Punjab telecom circle where it had won License & Spectrum.

As of today Idea 3G services are present in 3207 towns across India & it has 2.7 Million active 3G users with average usage of 330 MB/month.

The 3G Tariff Wars is heating up with each passing day. It started when MTNL & BSNL revised 3G Plans last month followed by Aircel which revised its 3G tariffs on last week of April and finally Airtel jumped in to it by revising its offers last week only. MTNL offers 15GB 3G Data pack for just Rs. 1200, BSNL offers 10GB data on its 3G network at Rs. 1099 now, Aircel too have revised tariffs offering 10GB 3G Data for about Rs. 997 for all, finally Airtel, it offers almost same plans as Idea.
