Old Post – The Television commercial running these days talks about the latest Rs. 250 Plan that offers Rs. 250 Talk  Time and offers Unlimited Data. Here is a trick Unlimited Data here means 1GB at 3G Speeds and Unlimited thereafter at 64Kbps. Here are the details:

Please Note : After recharge of Rs.250, to activate data access you need to SMS ‘HVC’ to ‘52270’ and you need to select (TATA DOCOMO INTERNETHVC) on your handset to enjoy unlimited benefits of 3G. Using any other APN would amount to deduction of charges for data usage at normal rates.

But when we visited the Tata Docomo’s Website and we found 2 Such Plans other than the above mentioned plan that cost Rs. 250 and give Talk Time and 3G Data. The first Plan is a combination of 2 recharges, the SmartLife Rs. 246 and Rs. 4, thereby making a total of Rs. 250. To tell you the truth, it is one of the most exciting thing i have seen in the recent past. Herein you are required to Recharge your Tata Docomo number 2 times with Different Amount so as to get Talk Time from one recharge and 3G Data from the other.

It is priced at Rs. 250 only (combined price of 2 recharges – Rs. 246 and Rs. 4). At first, you are supposed to recharge your Tata Docomo Number with Rs. 246 that would offer you Rs. 219 Talk Time (Full Talk Time less of Service Tax etc.)

After successfully recharging with Rs. 246, the second recharge amount is Rs. 4 that would give you 1 GB 3G Data usage valid for 30 days. Yes, you read it right, it 1GB at 3G Speeds and thereafter Unlimited at 2G Speeds (64Kbps). You should recharge with Rs. 4 within 48 Hours 48 hrs of recharging with Rs. 246 to get Data Benefits.

And the Other Such Plan is listed on this page and comes for Rs. 250 and offers the same capped 1GB 3G Data along with 250 Local & National minutes. Here is the snapshot of the same:

Conclusion – Having more than one Plan under Same Price creates a lot of confusion as we could not find the real Rs. 250 Plan. We had to talk to customer care to get the details for you. Out of the all of the above mentioned plans, we found the Unlisted Rs. 250 Talk Time(First One) Plan the best. Even if you ignore the marketing trick adopted by Tata Docomo, all the packs are a great deal to catch as no other operators is offering Talk Time in 3G Recharges forget about the Unlimited (capped) feature.
