The latest Rugged smart phone from Sony with IP67 certification, the Xperia Go is all set to land in India at a hefty price tag of Rs. 18,999. Featuring a 3.5 Inch Reality display with Mobile BRAVIA engine technology, Xperia Go is a Dust and Water Proof smartphone.
Announced in May this year, this would be the first Rugged smart phone from Sony to launch in India. Already listed on HomeShop18.com and Flipkart.com, we might soon hear about its official launch in India. Tough Flipkart is showing it as Out of Stock, HomeShop18 is showing it In Stock (Delivery Time is 10-11 Days).
Just to remind you its specifications, Xperia Go features Android 2.3 Gingerbread (upgradeable to Android 4.0), 3.5 Inch Reality display with Mobile BRAVIA engine, 1 GHz STE NovaThor U8500 Dual Core Processor, ARM Mali 400 GPU and NEON CPU extensions, 8 GB (up to 4 GB user-accessible memory) internal phone storage, 512 MB RAM, microSD Card slot supporting upto 32GB, 5 MP camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, aGPS, Pressure Sensor and more. Sony Xperia Go would be coming in 3 colors – Black, White and Yellow.
It comes with a Pressure Sensor, which developers can utilise in the weather-related or barometric pressure-apps through the Android sensor API. In India, its nearest competitor would be Defy series from Motorola which includes the latest Defy XT launched just a few months ago at Rs. 16,190.
