Now get your challan for Traffic Violations via BlackBerry

The Karnataka State Traffic Police Department plans to extend its initiative to challan the errant motorists across the state through BlackBerry. Presently only Bangalore has such facility where tariff violators are given challans printed via BlackBerry Device over a printer through Bluetooth.

At Present about 750 Police Officers of the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspectors and above have BlackBerry Devices that come with Bluetooth enabled printers to issue spot fine challans to motorists who violate traffic rules. And 250 more officers would be handed over the new devices for the same soon across the state.

The whole drive is set to start from June 4th and is expected to be successfully completed by the end of June itself. The training of the 250 new officers to get BlackBerry device will start soon and the state Traffic Police as already procured BlackBerry devices, printers and other consumables required for the initiative.
