As expected, Vodafone today made an announcement regarding slashing of Roaming Tariffs for its prepaid & postpaid subscribers across India. Just a couple of days ago, Airtel & Idea has announced similar cut in the roaming tariffs.

For Vodafone Prepaid customers, Incoming Calls on Roaming would be absolutely FREE with a Daily Plan for Rs. 5 and for a monthly package one would have to recharge with Rs. 71 (price may vary from circle to circle).
One thing that should be noted here is that all outgoing calls on roaming would be charged at 1.5p/sec (90p per min). For Daily Plan, Vodafone subscribers can dial *444*500# to activate Free Roaming benefits but for Monthly Package, you would have to visit a nearest store to get Roaming recharge done.
A similar plan is also available for Postpaid customers for Rs. 75 (monthly Rental may vary from state to state). Vodafone further announced launch of two new plans, Roaming Tariff Plan and Roaming Tariff Plan Free that offer reduced incoming roaming tariff and free incoming roaming benefit respectively for prepaid customers starting at Rs. 196 and for postpaid customers starting at Rs. 149.
Well there in not much change between what Airtel announced few days back and what Vodafone announced today. But Idea went ahead and announced packages starting at more than Rs. 200 which by any means will not go in their favour. Aircel is already offering Free Incoming on Roaming by way of One Nation, One Rate plans. Reliance too had launched Free Incoming Calls on Roaming but as a promotional measure only, so we are still expecting an announcement from Reliance wrt incoming tariff cut.
