Nokia bring good news for Urdu lovers, launches Dual SIM Nokia 114 with Urdu support

Nokia has brought what it claims to be the first Urdu supported feature phone in India, the Nokia 114. Priced attractively at Rs. 2,579, this phone is a part of Nokia range offering vernacular support and now Urdu is also supported apart from 10 other regional languages.

Nokia 114 was launched at an event by Shri Kapil Sibal, Honorable Minister of Communications and Information Technology in the presence of Mr. P. Balaji, Managing Director, Nokia India in Delhi today. handing over the phone to Mr. Muzaffar Ali, a noted film-maker, poet, a revivalist and a social worker, Mr. Kapil Sibal said,

“India today has one of the largest Urdu speaking populations in the world. The proliferation of Urdu language is deep rooted in our culture and we would like to connect this language to internet and mobile telephony like English. I would like to thank Nokia for being at the forefront of launching something unique which will benefit the over 15 crores Urdu speaking people in India.”

Now coming to the specs and features, the Nokia 114 comes with Easy Swap Dual SIM technology that allows you to change you secondary sim card with ease, 1.8 Inch TFT display with 114 ppi, Full Keypad, VGA rear camera, 16 MB internal memory, memory card support up to 32GB, Stereo FM radio with RDS, FM recording and a 1020 mAh battery. Also it has Nokia Xpress browser allowing users to consume less data by up to 90%, by compressing websites in the cloud.

Nokia 114 should be available in 3 colors – Black, Magenta and Cyan.
