In the last few months or say years we have seen increased 3G penetration across all the telecom markets of this planet and to tap the growing number of 3G user, Nokia has today announced pocket friendly 3G smart phone aimed at the masses, the Nokia 207, Nokia 208 and Dual SIM version of the Nokia 208.
Priced at just $68 (roughly Rs 4200 at todays exchange rate), these ultra cheap 3G phone will be available starting Q3, 2013 and will come with alot of pre-loaded apps.
The Nokia 207 and Nokia 208 are like identical cousins with a difference of camera and Dual SIM connectivity. The Nokia 207 is single SIM phone without a camera where Nokia 208 comes with both Single SIM as well as Dual SIM and has a camera too.
Since rest of the specs and features are some, all these devices have 2.4 Inch QVGA, Bluetooth 3.0 with Slam sharing, micro USB, 3.5mm AV connector, AHJ headphone support, Easy Swap Dual SIM (Nokia 208 Dual SIM only), Up to 256 MB flash; SD card support up to 32GB, 1020mAh battery.
Powered by Nokia Series 40 OS, these phone are super cheap but they have features like anyother phone like 3.5G HSPA Internet support, Nokia Xpress Browser and video streaming from YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp are pre-installed (Nokia 208 Single SIM only), Mail for Exchange is fully supported, it also offers Internet connection sharing, allowing you to use it as a USB modem alongside a laptop and more.
All the three phones will come in 5 colors – red, cyan, yellow, white and black. Also since these comes with a two-piece ‘cup’-style design, you can remove the back shell and replace with another color to change the look of your phone completely. Also there are no gaps between the keys which means they are splash-proof and your keys can’t get gunked-up over use or let in spilled liquids.
