Exclusive : Lava & MTS join hands to introduce 7 Inch Android Tablet

Today, we officially saw the launch of MTS MTag 401 about which we had reported last week only. MTS MTag 401 is a 4 Inch Android smartphone under Rs. 9000. When we got the Press Release about its launch and the thing that caught our attention was the mention of the upcoming launch of 7 Inch MTS Tablet.

We tried searching here & there over the net but couldnot find anything. But by chance i visited Lava Mobiles website to check its Data Card range and there is found this upcoming tablet dubbed as MTS MTag 7.0. Also it was mentioned over the website that it is already on sale in Rajasthan & Andhra Pradesh.

Well talking about it features, it does not impress me at all. I think Ubislate 7+ has better features than this one. As per the website, MTS MTag 7.0 features 7.1″ Ultra Responsive Capacitive Display with 260K colours, Qualcomm MSM7627-2 800 MHz processor, 5MP Camera at back and VGA Front Camera, 32 GB External memory support with 4GB Card coming with tab Free, regular connectivity features.

What is the most disappointing feature is that it is coming with Android 2.2 Froyo in the time of ICS and a 2.5 mm Audio Jack instead of 3.5mm one. It should atleast come with Gingerbread for larger acceptability. And Since it it launched by MTS, it supports only CDMA network and might come Network locked just like MTS MTag 401.

Here are its Full Features & Specs:

  • Dimensions – 197 X 120 X 14mm, Weight – 395 gms
  • Processor – Qualcomm MSM7627-2
  • OS – Google Android 2.2 Froyo

  • Battery – 4250 mAh
  • Memory – 512MB RAM + 512MB ROM

  • Sensor – 3D G-Sensor
  • External Memory Support up to 32GB
  • Headphone Jack – 2.5mm
  • Accessories – One charger, One USB cable, One ear phone, 4GB data Card
  • Others – Tethering and Mobile Hotspot, Hot Swap is possible

We called MTS Care at 1800-2000-100 and at the mentioned number (+919133955955), they have no details about its price etc and asked us to call this & that number. Interestingly, Reliance launched the first CDMA tab in the country in March this year at Rs. 12,999 and with the features that MTS MTag 7.0 have, there is no need to worry for Reliance.
