RIM is going through a really bad phase, their sales are going south, no one is really interested in those keypad phones any more that once were on everybody’s wish list. And now this news from Karbonn should not bother them. Karbonn Mobile is going to launch its very own Instant Messaging Service & FREE Push Mail service in the next few days.
As per a leading daily’s website, Karbonn Mobile will launch this free push mail & IM service similar to the BlackBerry’s BBM in next few days. Karbonn will provide this service on its range of hand sets priced at Rs. 5000 & below. Till now, only third party apps like Nimbuzz, eBuddy etc comes preloaded in this price range.
The first mobile from Karbonn to have KIM (Karbonn Instant Messaging), KT21 will be launched in a weeks time from now at a price of Rs. 4,490 which is about 50% less than the cheapest BlackBerry smartphone available now, Curve 8520. Also 2 more phones will join the party within next few months. Initially the service would be FREE of cost but data charges do apply.
At this price range, if you can get real time update of email & IMs, it would be great but how this would fare we would have to see. Stay tuned for more updates..!!
