100 SMS per Day Limit is back to haunt you, to stay a liitle longer this time


Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has today once again issued new guidelines and regulations to curb the menace of the Unwanted Messages. Few months back. TRAI had imposed a limit on number of SMS to be sent from a single mobile number which was further revised to 200 SMS per day, but now once again that limit has been reduced to 100 SMS per Day only. Supreme Court gives more time for Fresh 2G Auctions to the Government


The Supreme Court of India has extended the time the deadline for 2G Spectrum Auction to 31st August, a relief to many of the operator whose license stand cancelled after the historic decision of the Supreme Court earlier this year.

Now all the telecom operators would be able to continue till 7th September after which the 2G the existing licences for 2G spectrum shall become non operational. (Continue Reading…)


TRAI proposes a steep hike in 2G Spectrum among many other recommendations


Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has today announced its Recommendation on Auction of Spectrum proposing a base price of Rs. 3622.18 crores for the All India 2G Spectrum in 1800 Mhz which is higher than the base price set for the 3G Auctions in 2010. Where as the spectrum in 900 Spectrum shall cost an upward of Rs. 7244.36 crores as per these recommendation. ┬áThis steep hike in the base price is a big blow to the operators whose licenses were cancelled in February this year and to the existing operators as well. TRAI puts ceiling on Premium SMS Rates & tells operator to offer at least 1 Pay Per Second Plan


TRAI in its latest amendment to the Telecom Tariff Order has made is compulsory for all telecom operators across India to make available at least 1 Plan on Pay Per Second Pulse for both Prepaid as well as Postpaid customers. So in case your favorite telecom operator is not offering per second pulse plan, it wont be the case any more. (Continue Reading…)
