Updated – June, 2015 – Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has decided to offer to its customers FREE Roaming (without any STV) across India w.e.f 15th June, 2015. Tough no full details are available as of now, we will keep you updated with any news regarding Free Incoming for our Users.
Also some Special Tariff Vouchers has been introduced that offers Free Incoming during Roaming to its customer. Starting from Rs. 5 for a day, BSNL offers STV 33, STV 69 and STV 90 as well that comes with a validity of 7 days, 30 days and 90 days respectively.

OLD – Keeping in mind one of the objective of the upcoming National Telecom Policy 2012 with regards to One India & abolition of Roaming charges, BSNL has decided to offer Free Incoming Calls in Roaming with the introduction of ROAM Free Plan for its prepaid customers. The new Plan offering Home like tariffs in roaming as well will come into being from 1st May, 2011.
The Roam Free Plan has been priced at Rs. 150 (cost of SIM shall be additional) and comes with a validity of 90 days. It offers many Freebies the details of which are mentioned below.
Now talking about call rates, All Local & STD Call on BSNL Numbers shall be charged 1.2p per sec and All Local & STD Calls on Other Numbers shall cost 1.5p per sec.

Further, you will get reduced calling benefits on 2 Local BSNL Numbers & 1 STD BSNL Number at just 30p/min.
And most importantly All Incoming Call in Roaming (on BSNL Network only) shall be absolutely free. It does not work on MTNL’s network in Delhi & Mumbai.
Existing customers who want to convert their plan to Roam Free shall be able to do by getting the new Plan Voucher.
Also a new Plan Continuation Voucher of Rs.34 with a plan validity of 180 days offering freebies of 50 Min (3000 sec) -On-net + 20 Min (1200 sec) – Off-net voice call to be consumed within 30 days is hereby introduced for extension of plan validity of Per Sec plan, Per Min plan and General plan is introduced. The existing plan vouchers will be used only for migration and plan activation. For special plans including Roam Free plan, extension of plan validity will be through plan voucher only.
In case of Assam, J&K and North East telecom circles, instructions issued by DoT/TRAI regarding validity are to be complied with.

i would like to know whether the free voice calls of 6000 sec on net and off net to be used only in home net work or can be used while roaming also.
i have just recharge with the bsnl free incoming plan with Rs. 199/- .however the said amount has been added to the total balance and still deducting from the main balance. pliz quide me how to recharge for the free incoming plan.
You have done a topup plz do recharge then the plan will be activated.
I have a sim form UP East Varanasi...i m using roaming free Plan Rs199/- with this plane i m using sms tariff last few months , i want to use voice tariff can i use , ccare person he told u cont use any tariff with roaming plane still i m using sms tariff .....can i use voice tariff.
SMS and Data Tariff do work in Roaming... but other Special Tariff cease to work in Roaming... so the CC is right, you cannot use Special Voice Tariffs in Roaming....
i wanted to know if i recharge for roam free plan what benefits will be available to me??? presently i am in u.p, so if get it recharge with roam free plan, will all my incoming calls be free or only upto some minutes?????
recently befor 4 months i recharged my bsnl numbr with this 150 roming free plan,,,and my roming free is valid in delhi rohini,,,,, but now this plan reprcied 199 ,,,so i want to know tht stil this plan works in delhi rohini :) ??? any help??

You have to send all the 3 numbers to a 53733 like this

Sending the message to 53733 cost Rs. 5 initially... and for changing any number it cost Rs. 10....
So it is always better to confirm from the CC first.....

Well, you have to purchase the same Plan Voucher for Roaming Free Plan priced at around Rs. 150 (depending upon the circle).... to extend the validity of the plan under the same Roaming Free Plan.....
Its a fake plan not working in MTNL service areas...its robbed my 150 rupees...i got 50 msg and 50mb data free but not working in MTNL service areas...
Its clearly mentioned that ONLY ON BSNL Network it would be Free
i asked in bsnl cc but they told the plan is not available. Why?
