BlackBerry has today announced the launch of new iconic QWERTY styled BlackBerry 9720 in India for Rs. 15,990. Announced just last month with OS 7.1 instead of the latest BlackBerry OS 10, the key features of this phone are a dedicated BBM and presence of Touch Display. The new BlackBerry 9720 will be available starting September 14th at a retail store near you.

Talking of its specs and features, BlackBerry 9720 comes pre-loaded with a generation old BlackBerry OS 7.1, has a 2.8 Inch TFT LCD Display with HVGA resolution (480 x 360 pixels), a modest 806 MHz Marvel Tavor MG1 processor, 5MP EDOF (Extended Depth of Field) rear camera with LED Flash and 1450 mAh battery.

For connectivity, it has options like Quad Band 3G support, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Mobile Hotspot 802.11 b/g, GPS/aGPS and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR. BlackBerry has included Proximity sensor and Ambient light sensor on the new device. This new smart phone has dimensions of 4.48 in x 2.61 in x 0.47 in and weighs just 120 grams. Further it has 512MB RAM, 512MB internal storage and 32GB external memory support via microSD card and has FM Radio too.
