Finally the day has arrived we all have been waiting for, BBM is now available for Android & iOS without any waiting list. Also BlackBerry has announced that BBM for Android and iOS has added more than 20 Million new BBM Active Users.
Few months back BlackBerry announced this move but without any time line and finally the iconic social network is here – BBM for All. If you are interested in downloading BBM to your Android or iOS device, just head over to www.bbm.com on your phone’s browser and follow the detailed process thereafter. Also you can go to your respective App Stores and download the same (we have put the Download links below).

Android users with version 4.0 and above only would be able to use BBM on their handsets. For Android users below 4.0, BBM is not available as of now. Similarly, for iOS users, BBM is avaiable for download only on devices running iOS 6 and above. Also one would not require any special plan to run BBM on device, it will work fine with your regular Data Connection, 2G or 3G as the case may be.

However, there are few features that won’t be available to Android and iOS user. Starting BBM Video calling and BBM Voice calling services, they will not be available to Android and iOS devices in the initial release. However, BlackBerry might introduce them at a later stage.

So why everybody is so excited about BBM for Android/iOS?

  • Secure – you don’t need to share your email or phone number with new/casual contacts. All you need is a BBM Pin (that maintains your privacy) to start having a conversation with them. This feature is not available in other apps like WhatsApp, Line, and WeChat etc.
  • Fast & Immediate – Just like any other messaging app, this too is fast & always on. BBM always tells you that messages are delivered and read.
