Apple launches iPhone 5S with Fingerprint Identity Sensor and the iPhone 5C with a lot of color options

Apple has finally launched the new iPhone 5S along with a color iPhone 5C at an event yesterday night in United States. Apple iPhone 5S is an upgrade over the original iPhone whereas iPhone 5C is iPhone 5 in a polycarbonate body and a lot of color options.

Starting with the iPhone 5S, it packs a finger print identity sensor that lets simply and securely unlock your phone with just the touch of a finger. The iPhone 5S comes with the same screen size of 4 Inch with Retina Display but a new chipset, the Apple A7 making iPhone 5S the world’s first smartphone with 64-bit desktop-class architecture for blazing fast performance.

Apart from this new chipset, iPhone 5S also has a new M7 motion coprocessor that gathers data from the accelerometer, gyroscope and compass to offload work from the A7 for improved power efficiency. Also iPhone 5S will ship with the latest iOS 7 starting September 20th. Apple iPhone 5S will be available starting $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB and $399 for 64GB in the US with regular contracts.

The main difference between the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S are the new Chipset, A7 and presence of M7. Also there is a difference in Camera which now has a better & improved lens and the most innovative tech ever, the Finger Print Scanner (Touch ID). Also the new iPhone 5S will be available in 3 Colors – Space Gray, Gold & Silver.

Now coming the new iPhone 5C – the most colorful iPhone yet. Expected to be a cheaper version of the original iPhone, this would still remain out of hands of the many. iPhone 5C will be available for $99 for the 16GB and $199 for the 32GB in the US. However unlocked iPhone 5C will cost around Rs. 35,000 (even more) in India, if launched.

iPhone 5c features an all-new design crafted from a single, hard-coated polycarbonate body with a steel reinforced frame for a solid, sturdy feel. The steel frame holds the internal components and also doubles as the iPhone 5c’s multiband antenna. iPhone 5C comes with more LTE bands than any other smartphone in the world and a new FaceTime HD camera. 

Coming to specs and features of this new colorful iPhone 5C, its features are almost the same as the old iPhone.
iPhone 5C will be available in 5 colors – White, Pink, Yellow, Blue & Green. iPhone 5C features a 1.3 GHz Dual Core A6 chipset with PowerVR SGX 543MP3 GPU, 4 Inch Retina Display, 8MP camera with LED Flash and Auto-Focus, 1.2 MP front camera, Three-axis gyro, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor and Ambient light sensors. iPhone 5C features the same built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery, 16/32GB Internal Storage options and 1 GB RAM.

On the connectivity front it has 4G, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Dual band Wi-Fi (a/b/g/n) and GPS with A-GPS/GLONASS and the latest iOS 7 preloaded. Apple iPhone 5C will be available starting 20th September, 2013 across US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the UK.

Both the iPhones will be available in more countries starting with December, 2013 (will be announced later on). So for people in India, you’ll have to wait till December to get your hands on these devices.
